The Year In Review

Well we are just hours from 2012 so I thought it would be nice to do a year in review.  It has been a pretty decent year, so ups and a few downs, but hey that's life.

 So where to start?

The boys turned six and nine this year and they both got Bows for their birthdays.  The little on now has a Compound Bow and the older a Long Bow.  Yes, we are those kinds of parents.  We watch Kill It Cook It Eat It with the boys and are getting them ready to go hunting with dad.  The little one also got a BB Gun for Christmas, but we figured that since his best friends name is Ralphie it had to be done cause as everybody knows "you'll shoot your eye out kid".

I again have the best parents in the world.  They took the boys to Wyoming over the summer to a dude ranch where they rode horses, played cowboys and shot real rifles.  They had a freaking blast, well except for that the older one got Scarlet Fever (yes, seriously, who get Scarlet Fever except my kid?) before they trip and had to take and antibiotic which it turns out he was allergic to and caused a full body rash while in Wyoming.  That was fantastic for my folks to deal with.  The folks also helped us totally gut our 100 year old house and make it more livable.  Yes truly love them more than I can say.

So we lost our tenants but it was no big loss cause we gained a much better one!  He is the best and I hope he stays for ever and ever and ever and ever.

Not only do I have the best parents in the world but also a BFF that is truly a gift from God!!!!!  Everybody should be as lucky as me.  She is there when I need her and can always make me laugh, even if she thinks I am secretly a spy.  Plus, did I mention she has a pool?

I also have a cousin who is like a sister to me, since I never had an actual sister it really is great, even if our kids like to cause each other bodily harm.
And I can't leave out my husband.  He is the best (most of the time).  We celebrated out 12th wedding anniversary this year.  We haven't killed each other yet and we have managed to raise to somewhat stable children.

So here's so 2012 a great year it will be!!!!

I worked all day and I can come up with nothing that pissed me off, really?

So I was supposed to work a double today.  Supposed to being the key here.  I lucked out and had an offer to work my night shift tonight.  I am siked but I really think she only agreed to do it some I would go home and write a blog about her, so whatever, love you Bryn and that crazy man of yours too.  Got to cuddle on the couch and catch up on Doctor Who with my hubby.

I had a nice visit from my aunt and cousin and made to serious money.  What the hell, I was there for 6 hours and I really can find nothing to complain about.  Well, other than the fact that my feet hurt, but oh well, they have all week so that's nothing new.  But then again when I got home my husband was so kind to point out that the extra weight on me could be the cause of my foot pain.  Awe, thanks honey, I preferred when you felt bad for me the other day and set up the foot spa when I got home.  And he'll be regretting these words when I go to Market Basket Sunday and bring home nothing but veggies, no steak and no potatoes, haha take that Irishman!

Ya, it really was a decent day, the hostess was even wearing underwear for once, or so she says.  But she is from Tough Town so chances are she wasn't, AGAIN!

Well, I have to work again tomorrow so maybe then I will have a good story for you all, if not, guess that all the better for me.  And I go back to lunch lady land next week I am sure I will have lots of stories then.

Dogs in the grocery store!!!!

Ok, so this blog is going to become addicting if I can now go and write about everything that annoys me, thus causing me to neglect my children while I type away (kids are in Vermont this week so I guess it's ok today).  So I had to run into my local Shaws.  As I walk in a little dog comes running over and starts sniffing my leg (maybe he can smell my chickens???)  I nearly step on the tiny thing as I try to walk away and it just follows along still sniffing until some ladies comes and grabs him and looks at me with a smile and a laugh.  I shot her a dirty look while supressing my urge to say "Really lady, this is a grocery store, why the heck is your dog here?"

Now don't get me wrong, I have no problem with dogs, I actual really like them most of them time.  I just don't understand when it became acceptable to bring one into the grocery store, or a restaurant (yes, I have seen that), or on an airplane in a seat rather than in a crate in cargo (ok I haven't actually seen that but I do know somebody who bought a seat AT FULL PRICE for their dog on a plane, boy would I be ticked if I had paid good money for a ticket and had to sit next to a dog and have it shed all over my nice travel clothes).  I mean really, I don't want to be picking dog hair off my apples when I get home (ok who am I kidding you all know me, off my Mountain Dew and Doritos).

And what about the people with allergies.  My best friend is allergic to everything, should she have to be subjected to an allergy attack to buy her kids some milk and apples (and yes, she would be buying apples, and milk, but probably Mountain Dew and Doritos for when I come over to visit).  I really just don't get it.

Gift Cards

Ok, so after working ALOT in the last few days I must say that there are so many things that totally pissed me off.  But let's go with the Gift Card Redeemers.   So happy you got a gift card for Christmas, even happier you decided to come and use it when I was working.  Just a little hint.  When your check is $100 and your gift card is for $50 you are supposed to tip on the amount BEFORE the gift card is taken off!!!!  Seriously, did I serve you $50 less food and drink, NO!!!!  Hell, you got half your bill paid for by somebody else, bonus for you, how about bonus for me too!!!!!  It is like the people who have coupons, the coupons clearly always say you are supposed to tip on the amount pre discount.  Is it that you can't read, or maybe that you don't care about my two kids freezing at home because I can't afford to turn my thermostat over 62.

See guys I told you I was gonna

So as my darling coworkers know I have been toying with this idea for a while because my facebook status just doesn't give me enough room to vent.  So why not blog about life, right?  Or work, kids, annoying pains in the ass, my awesome friends and family, American Horror Story or whatever the hell I feel like going off on any given day.  And for those of you who know me, I could be posting quite often.  So enjoy, comment if you like and send me suggestions.   Oh and special thanks to Tim Keating for giving me a title that we in the know can laugh about.
